The player has to pick one of the three cards with the lowest face value (as decided by the dealer’s card). Or, if that card is a “busting” card that doesn’t qualify as low, the player may choose the card that qualifies.
Finally, the Return of the Dealer. The dealer places three cards in the center of the table, face up, for the dealer’s benefit. The player now has a choice to either stay with the hand he has or ask for a second and third card.
